Comcast Hosts Job Fair on Friday

The Comcast Corp. announced Thursday that it will host a job fair in Plymouth to help fill 200 job openings in Michigan.

The job fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday at Comcast's regional headquarters, 41112 Concept Dr.

The Internet, cable television and telephone company is looking to fill jobs including call center representatives, call center supervisors, technical support specialists, installers, direct sales representatives and finance analysts.

Candidates must apply online before the event through the careers section of Comcast's website. Qualified candidates will have on-site interviews.

State Rep. Mark Ouimet (R-Scio Township) said he applauds Comcast for adding to the local workforce in western Washtenaw County.

"I applaud Comcast for ... helping to revitalize our economy. Its growing call center continues to make a significant impact for Scio Township and the surrounding area," he said. "As Michigan's business climate slowly begins to stabilize, this announcement is a strong indicator of positive growth.

"Every positive step forward to increase our work force contributes to the overall health of our economy, and I commend Comcast for choosing Scio Township and Washtenaw County as a whole."
