Dexter District Library eBooks Now Available for Kindle

The library also has download stations compatible with the Barnes & Noble Nook and Sony Reader.

The eBook collection is now compatible with the Amazon Kindle.

Patrons can now download popular and classic eBooks to a Kindle device or any mobile device running the free Kindle app, such as the iPhone, iPad and Android. To get started, visit tln.lib.overdrive.com.

Kindle users can browse the library’s collection of bestselling and classic eBooks
from any computer, check out titles using a library card, and select “Get for Kindle” to deliver eBooks to their Kindle device. Users who enjoy eBooks on Kindle will benefit from Amazon’s Whispersync technology that synchronizes notes, highlights and last page read between the Kindle and Kindle app. As with standard print books, the library also offers the ability to place a hold for titles currently checked out to other patrons.

The library also offers eBooks and audiobooks for use on computers, smart phones, MP3 players and eBook readers like the Barnes & Noble Nook and Sony Reader.

The eBook service is an initiative between 36 public libraries in southeast Michigan, coordinated through The Library Network cooperative. By pooling resources, public libraries have built a collection that includes over 6,500 eBooks and eAudio books for download to personal devices.
