Pierce is directing a movie called Conception. The movie will be put up on YouTube, Pierce hopes, by mid-May.

“It’s hard to say when it will be done. It will take everyone’s full cooperation. I’m hoping it to be done by the middle of May and it will probably be an hour long or so,” Pierce said.

The cast consists of DHS seniors Sho Harvey, Jacob Caldwell, Lucas Rieckhoff, Trevor Herman-Hilker, Taylor Neely, Zac Whidby, Emily Pap, Alex Mortensen, Taylor Petri, Austin Elliott, and will have appearances by Melissa Vesey and Hunter Hook.

Senior Taylor Petri was asked to join the group about a month ago, “I saw Dylan’s video for the Jane Eyre project in AP English and knew that Conception would be a really fun project to work on,” she said.

“Conception is a parody of the movie Inception. I am playing the architect, Ariadne and Ellen Page plays this character in the movie,” said Petri.

Pierce has made many YouTube movies and wanted to make this one as a celebration of his senior year.

“I will be directing this film, but somewhere I may make a cameo appearance. I simply wanted to make it because it’s my senior year, and I wanted to go out with a bang,” said Pierce.

Petri said it will be difficult to find time for the busy seniors to film the movie.

“It will be hard, but so far it hasn’t interfered with homework because we’ve only done filming on weekends,” she said. “I’m really excited about being a part of this, because so far the filming has been really fun and the script is hilarious. I can’t wait to see the finished product.”
