"We've gone to simliar events in Stockbridge and Saline and enjoyed it so much that we wanted to bring it to Dexter," event co-chairwoman Mary Ann Finke said. "It's not a lot of work to put together and it's a lot of fun."

To play, participants will be required to purchase a bidding paddle for $3 or two paddles for $5. Each paddle has a number on it that the user holds in the air when placing a bid. Depending on the value of the auction item, participants must bid between one to four quarters, as well.

"The whole event goes fairly quickly," Finke said. "We're going to auction off 60 items as fast as we can."

Prizes include Tuppleware sets, Lia Sophia jewelry, Mary Kay products and gift baskets from in Dexter.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the St. Louis Center in Chelsea, a residential facility for disabled men and children.

"We're hoping to get a good turnout," Finke said. "If you've ever played Quartermania, you know that it generate a lot of excitement."

Throughout the evening, the ladies auxiliary will also sell pizza, beverages and Sloppy Joe's for an extra fee.
