Dexter's St. James Church Plans Easter Egg Hunt

Here is a look at some of the family-friendly activities going on this weekend.

As the weather warms up, families will be looking for more weekend activities to do with their children. Here is a look at some of the activities going on around the community this weekend.

  • Celebrate Arbor Day

Where/when:  Downtown Dexter at the clock, Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why go?:  Celebrate Arbor Day and trees and pick up your free tree seedlings.  There will also be information on the benefits of trees available at the

Pricing:  Free, while supplies last

  • DJ Ice Skating

Where/when:  Arctic Coliseum, 501 Coliseum Dr., in Chelsea, Saturday from 7:15-9:05 p.m. on the south rink.

Why go?:  Skate the night away with a live DJ playing all the newest hits and your special requests.

Pricing:  $6 in advance and $10 at the door

  • Spring Fling

Where/when:  Hudson Mills Activity Center, , Saturday at 1 p.m.

Why go?:  Take a walk on the wild side and join an interpreter/guide as you look for wildlife and various signs of spring that have arrived.  Pre-registration is required, call 734-426-8211.

Pricing:  $3 per person

  • Alice in Wonderland

Where/when: Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Copeland Administration Building.

Why go?: Come support Dexter High School's Drama Club and enjoy a night out with the family.

Pricing: $10 adults, $8 students

  • Easter Egg Hunt

Where/when: , 4 p.m. Sunday.

Why go?: If you haven't gotten your fill of Easter candy by now, come out and take the kids on another Easter egg hunt.

Pricing: The hunt is free, but a hotdog lunch costs $1
