Easter Egg Hunts Set For Weekend

Here's a look at some of the things going on around Dexter this weekend.

Easter is this weekend. Are you ready? Dexter Patch has your source for weekend family-friendly activities.

  • Celebrate Earth Day and see Disney's African Cats

Where/when:  Friday, Goodrich Quality 16 movie theater, 3686 Jackson Rd. in Ann Arbor, various show times.

Why go?:  This is a G-rated film for the whole family.  It is an epic true story about the lives of three of Africa’s "big cats."

Pricing:  Child, $6.50; Adult, $9.25; Senior, $6.75.

Where/when:  , Friday at 11 a.m.

Why go?:  Bring the kids and a cozy blanket or stuffed animal and enjoy The Easter Bunny is Coming to Town at the library.  No registration is required.

  • Easter Egg Hunt at

Where/when: The Village of Dexter will host their first Easter egg hunt at Community Park on Saturday.

Why go?: The Easter egg hunt is open to children ages 10 and younger. The Easter bunny will be on hand throughout the event, which runs from 10 a.m.-noon.

Pricing: Tickets cost $2 in advance and $3 the day of the event and may be purchased at the

  • Chelsea Easter Egg Hunt

Where/when:  Chelsea Retirement Community, 805 W. Middle St. in Chelsea, Saturday at 9:45 a.m.

Why go?:  The kids will have a ball searching among the more than 3,000 candy filled plastic eggs and even meeting the Easter Bunny.

Cost:  Free

  • Rock Climbing

Where/when:  Planet Rock Climbing Gym and Training Center, 82 Aprill Dr. in Ann Arbor.  Planet Rock’s hours are:  Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Cost:  Adult day pass is $16, student day pass is $15 and kids’ day pass (ages 5-13) is $12.
