Energetic Pup Looking for Good Home

Scout has been trained through a Humane Society of Huron Valley program.

Scout is an eight-month-old pit bull mix who, with his freckled white coat, is cute as a button. He was relinquished by his owners who could not care for him properly. He is a very smart and super-sweet little pup. He’s young and energetic, so he's looking for an active family that's ready to do lots of running and playing. He should also go to a home with older children who can handle his puppy energy. Scout loves squeaky toys and loves to play in the snow.

Scout is a recent graduate of a special training called Michigan Inmates Providing Assistance Work & Service, a joint venture of the Humane Society of Huron Valley and the Women's Huron Valley Correctional Facility.

Each dog enrolled in the program will be tolerant of grooming (including trimming nails, checking teeth and ears, brushing, etc.), able to walk nicely on a leash, learn the commands "sit," "down," "stay," "come," "leave it", as well as "up" and "off" and will probably know more than a few cute pet tricks to boot. They will also be house-trained.

If you'd like to visit with Scout, he's at the Humane Society of Huron Valley, 3100 Cherry Hill Rd. in Ann Arbor. For details call 734-662-5585.
