Here is a look at what's going on today in Dexter.

We've got weather, gasoline prices and some suggestions on how to spend your day.

1. The weather

The National Weather Service predicts partly sunny skies today, with a high near 84 degrees. Thursday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 62 degrees.

2. Ice cream social

in Dexter will hold its annual ice cream social from 4-8 p.m. today in the church's Fellowship Hall.

The German-American menu includes knockwurst and sauerkraut, German and American potato salad, baked beans, hot dogs, sloppy joes, fruit cups, beverages and ice cream and toppings, along with free cake with the meal purchase. The menu is a la carte.

3. Take a trip to Africa

The will host a presentation on Africa to wrap -up its adult summer reading program, "Around the World," at 6:30 p.m. today. This program is open to all, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
