Five Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 13

Here is a look at what's going on today in Dexter.

1. The weather

The National Weather Service predicts today will be partly sunny, with a high near 40 degrees. Tuesday night there is a 50 percent chance of rain, cloudy, with a low around 31 degrees.

2. Coffee hour with parents

teachers will host a coffee hour with parents today from 8:30-10 a.m. in the World Cultures room. The event is open to all parents with students at Bates Elementary.

3. Open registration for Dexter Community Education classes

The following Dexter Community Education classes are currently open and accepting registration:

  • Junior dance/pom clinic (registration ends Dec. 21.)
  • Floor hockey (registration ends Dec. 22 for students in kindergarten through third grade, and preschool registration ends Jan. 6.)
  • Indoor soccer (registration ends Jan. 13.)
  • Junior cheer (registration ends Jan. 18.)
