1. The weather

The National Weather Service predicts today will be partly sunny, with a high near 35 degrees. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 23 degrees.

2. International Baccalaureate parents meeting

officials will meet with parents today from 7-9 p.m. in the DHS media center to discuss the International Baccalaureate program for freshmen and sophomores.

3. Picture request

The Village of Dexter is currently working on developing a new website. The village would like to incorporate photos that feature the community. E-mail photos to villagewebphotos@gmail.com. All pictures used on the site will be credited with the photographer’s name.

4. Gas prices

MichiganGasPrices.com reports the following gasoline prices in the Dexter area as of Sunday night:

  • $3.14 a gallon, BP, 200 Baker Rd.
  • $3.15 a gallon, , 195 Baker Rd.
  • $3.15 a gallon, , 750 Baker Rd.
  • $3.29 a gallon, , 8135 Main St.
  • $3.29 a gallon, , 7177 Dexter Ann Arbor Rd.
  • $3.29 a gallon, , 2940 Baker Rd.
  • $3.29 a gallon, Sunoco, 6100 Dexter-Pinckney Rd.

5. This day in history:

Dec. 6, 1865: On this day in 1865, the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, officially ending the institution of slavery, is ratified. "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."
