1. The weather

The National Weather Service predicts a 50 percent chance of rain and snow showers, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 44 degrees. Tonight it will be cloudy, with a low around 31 degrees.

2. Dexter Chorus performs Veterans Day concert

Veterans will be honored on Thursday, as the sixth- through 12th-grade choirs at Dexter Community Schools present their Veterans Day concert at 7 p.m. at the Dexter High School Center for the Performing Arts. The students will sing an assortment of patriotic and inspirational songs in tribute to the veterans in the community. The concert is free and open to the public.

3. Piece-makers quilt group meets

The St. Andrew's Piece-makers meet from 9-11 a.m. every Thursday at St. Andrew's United Church of Christ in Dexter. The group is always looking for new members who have an interest in quilting. For more information about the Piece-makers, e-mail Owsley at efowsley@earthlink.net.

4. Gas prices

5. This day in history

Nov. 10, 1975: On this day in 1975, the SS Edmund Fitzgerald sunk in Lake Superior, killing all 29 crew members on board. It was the worst single accident in Lake Superior's history.
