1. The weather

The National Weather Service predicts a 100 percent chance of rain today with a high near 61 degrees. Wednesday night rain is expected likely before 1 a.m., then a slight chance of rain and snow showers.

2. Bible study

St. Andrew's United Church of Christ in Dexter will host a women's Bible study group at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. today. An adult Bible study group will meet at 6:30 p.m. The groups are free and open to the public. Passages from the Bible will be discussed.

3. Dan Buettner virtual visit

Blue Zones author Dan Buettner joins residents at the Chelsea District Library via satellite from 7-8:30 p.m. today to talk about the travels and research that went into writing The Blue Zones. He'll be taking questions from the audience, so come prepared to converse with the author.

On the road today? MichiganGasPrices.com reports the following gasoline prices in the Dexter area as of Tuesday night:

5. This day in history:

Nov. 9, 1938: On this day in 1938, in an event that would foreshadow the Holocaust, German Nazis launch a campaign of terror against Jewish people and their homes and businesses in Germany and Austria. The violence, which continued through Nov. 10 and was later dubbed "Kristallnacht," or "Night of broken glass," after the countless smashed windows of Jewish-owned establishments, left approximately 100 Jews dead, 7,500 Jewish businesses damaged and hundreds of synagogues, homes, schools and graveyards vandalized.
