Five Things You Need to Know: Week of July 4

Here are a few important community notices this week.

  • Offices closed for Fourth of July

The post office, Dexter District Library and village of Dexter offices are closed today for the Fourth of July. The Planning Commission meeting regularly scheduled for the first Monday of the month will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Dexter Senior Center.

  • Aubree's Pizzeria & Tavern job fair

, 8031 N. Main St., will hold a job fair from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Interviews will be conducted on the spot. Selected applicants will be hired immediately. The restaurant is seeking servers, bartenders, line cooks, hosts, delivery drivers, server assistants and dishwashers. The job fair is open to all residents.

  • Free ice cream social

The Dexter District Library will hold an ice cream social at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Library patrons can show their library card and receive a free ice cream cone.

  • The Music Man opens at The Encore Theatre

The Encore Theatre's production of opens at 7 p.m. Thursday. Tickets cost $28 for adults or $25 for youths 17 and younger. Tickets can be purchased online.

  • Friday Night Concert Series

The Dexter Area Chamber of Commerce's annual will continue at 6:30 p.m. Friday featuring the jazz band All Directions. The concert will take place at Monument Park and is free and open to the public.
