Five Things You Need to Know: Week of June 20

Here is a look at some activities going on around Dexter this week.

1. Drop-in story time

The will host drop-in story time for children ages 18 months to 5 years at 11 a.m. Monday. The event is free and will last approximately 30 minutes. Visit the library's website for more weekly programs.

2. Dexter School Board meeting

The Dexter Community Schools Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at . Items on the agenda include a budget hearing for the 2011-2012 school year.

3. Beer Dinner at Terry B's

Come celebrate Ann Arbor Brewing Company's five year anniversary on Wednesday as approaches their own anniversary in July.  The beer dinner includes five courses paired with beer samples to compliment each dish prepared by Chef Doug.  Reception starts at 6 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m., tickets $50. 4. "No Child Left Inside" Day Camp

Children, ages 8 to 10 years old, will explore science and nature through a variety of outside activities and games with up close exploration of aquatic life, reptiles, bugs and a variety of other wildlife at on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Other fun outdoor activities will include balloon toss, scavenger hunt and making ice cream. Participants should bring a sack lunch. The cost is $75.

5. Summer Concert Series

The Dexter Summer Concert Series continues on Friday as Beatlemania hits Dexter at 6:30 p.m. The Beatles Tribute Band, The Back Beats will perform at the gazebo in Monument Park. This concert is free and open to the public.
