Knights of Columbus Chicken Broil

The Dexter Knights of Columbus is hosting a Memorial Day today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the , 8265 Dexter-Chelsea Rd. The cost is $9 and includes half a chicken breast, baked potato, cole slaw and beverages. Proceeds from the dinner benefit the Ann Arbor VA Hospital.

The Ann Arbor Country Club will host a free pool party today from noon to 6 p.m. Guests can enjoy the facilities, purchase picnic fare and drinks, and check out the value of a club membership at no obligation. The club will donate 10 percent of memberships purchased to the Educational Foundation of Dexter. The club is located at 4699 East Loch Alpine Dr. in Ann Arbor.

Ya’ssoo Greek Festival

St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church will celebrate their fifth annual Ya’ssoo Greek Festival on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $3 after 4 p.m. on Friday and after 1 p.m. on Saturday. Children 12 and under are free. For more information, visit http://www.stnickaa.org/.

African American Downtown Festival

The free festival takes place on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and pays tribute to the Historic Black Business District of Ann Arbor through music, art, theater, dance, poetry and social engagement. The festival will be held in downtown Ann Arbor on North Fourth Avenue and East Ann Street.

Dexter High School graduation

The Class of 2011 commencement exercises will take place at 2 p.m. at . The event is open to the public. No ticket is required for admittance. The graduation will take place in the DHS gymnasium. Dexter students have a required rehearsal on Friday from 9-11:30 a.m.
