Five Things You Need to Know: Week of May 9

Here's a look at a few activities going on around Dexter this week.

1. Piece-makers Quilt Show

The St. Andrew’s Piece-makers quilting group is presenting its eighth annual quilt show, featuring quilts and supplies, books, patterns and fiber arts demonstrations. The show will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Andrew's United Church of Christ on Saturday. Admission is $4.

2. DHS baseball

The varsity baseball team plays Saline at 4 p.m. Monday. The junior varsity and freshmen teams play Pioneer High School at 4 p.m. Thursday. All games are home games. For a complete schedule of games, visit the DHS athletics website.

3. Home Remodeling Workshop

The is hosting a free home remodeling workshop at 7 p.m. Thursday. “Outstanding Home Remodeling” is presented by Architectural Resource and Dexter Builders. Contact the library for more information at 734-426-4477.

4. Science Spectacular at Cornerstone Elementary

The Cornerstone Parent-Teacher Group is sponsoring the school’s annual Science Spectacular from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday at . Children and adults of all ages are invited to share in an evening of excitement and discovery conducting experiments and even participating in a fossil dig. 5. Relay for Life

Don’t miss this year’s on Saturday in Monument Park. The relay is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and fight back against the disease. The relay is a great way to help the cause as well as spend quality time with your family and friends. In addition to the walk itself, there will be children's activities, food, music and vendors.
