Get Out: 5 Things to Do This Weekend

Here's a look at some activities going on in the Dexter area.

Where/When: The Dexter Knights of Columbus will continue its weekly fish fry at the  beginning at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Why go?: The all-you-can-eat buffet-style dinner has fish, a salad and potato bar, desserts and other tasty treats. It's a great way to feed the family while supporting a local organization.

Pricing: $10 for walk-ins and $9 for drive-through. Children's meals cost $5.

2. CHEF'S TABLE

Where/When: At 5060 Jackson Rd. in Ann Arbor, from 7-10 p.m. Friday.

Why go? You get to relax, socialize with fellow foodies and watch as local chefs prepare and serve your entire meal in front of you. The menu includes house-made ricotta gnocchi with butter and lemon zest; five-spice caramelized duck breast with greens and apple-ginger puree on a crispy potato pancake; and honey cream tart with candied tangerine sorbet. Registration is required by calling 734-645-1030.

Pricing: $50 per person.

3. ANN ARBOR ART CENTER WORKSHOP

Where/When: Ann Arbor Art Center, 525 S. State St.; Saturday at 10 a.m.

Why go: Tell your own stories through cutting and arranging silhouette forms.

Pricing: $35 plus $10 lab fee.

4. MOM-TO-MOM SALE

Where/When: Our Savior Lutheran Church in Chelsea will host a mom-to-mom sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Why go?: Shop for baby clothes and various maternity items.

Pricing: $1 admission fee.

5. PURPLE ROSE PRESENTS SOME COUPLES MAY

Where/When: The world premiere of Some Couples May by Cary Crim will take place at the Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea on Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Why go?: For anyone who has an interest in live theater, the Purple Rose is the place to be and features productions from Michigan actors.

Pricing: Tickets range from $35 to $40. Visit the box office to purchase tickets.
