Get Out: 5 Things to Do This Weekend

From crafts to kites, Patch has a list of the best activities offered this weekend.

Why go: Children can enjoy decorating cookies, arts and crafts, having a caricature done and getting a picture with Peter Cottontail. Child care is available for parents who want to look around without the kids in tow.

2. Miniature Golf

3. Decorate a Kite

Where/when: Tree Town Toys, 2611 Plymouth Rd., Ann Arbor; Saturday 1-4 p.m.

4. Go to the Movies

Where/when: Anytime this weekend, although we suggest a matinee. It is easier on the budget.

Why go? Even though it is spring break, the weather forecast calls for a lot of clouds and rain. It is a perfect time to take in a movie. Here are some kid-friendly suggestions: Hop (3 stars), Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2 ½ stars), Rango (3 stars) Gnomeo & Juliet (3 ½ stars).

Pricing: Prices vary (average price is $7.50 for a matinee).

5. Mr. B's Piano Celebration

Where/when: The Ark, 316 S. Main St., Ann Arbor, Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Why go? Once a year, Mark "Mr. B" Braun of Ann Arbor comes together with other top piano players from around Michigan to perform a stunning concert.
