1. Civil War Days

Why go: Civil War Days at Gordon Hall will offer a full schedule of outdoor activities providing a glimpse into the lives of both civilians and soldiers during a period of economic and emotional distress unmatched in our country’s history.

2. Family Fun Day
Where/when: Two Twelve Arts Center, 216 W. Michigan Ave. in Saline; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why go?: The event includes make-and-take art activities, face painting, giant bubbles, pottery demonstrations, title making, sno-cones, popcorn, cotton candy and live music.

3. Strawberry Jam workshop
Where/when: Downtown Home & Garden, 210 S. Ashley St. in Ann Arbor; Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon.
Why go?: Get away from the kids for a few hours and in this class you will learn to make small batches of artisanal strawberry jam in flavors like honey-ginger and rosemary-sage. All it takes is a quart of perfect strawberries and a spoonful of creativity.
Pricing: $25
4. St. Andrew's Church Rummage Sale
Where/when: , 7610 Ann Arbor St. in Dexter; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Why go?: Baked goods and light refreshments will be available along with clothing, household goods, small appliances, furniture, jewelry, children's toys and games and books and craft items and more.
Pricing: Prices depend on item purchased.
5. Grillin' for Food Gatherers
Where/when: Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds, 5055 Ann Arbor-Saline Road in Ann Arbor; Sunday, 3-8 p.m.
Why go?: Proceeds from the event help provide healthy food to 164 non-profit programs serving low-income adults, families and children in Washtenaw County.
Pricing: $50 adults ($40 is tax-deductible); $10 kids ages 3-13 ($7 is tax-deductible).
