HVA's Camp 911 Program Offers Summer Fun

Two-day camps are available for Washtenaw County residents though July and August.

Summer camps offer a variety of experiences to children, and Huron Valley Ambulance’s Camp 911 is no exception. For 8- to 12- year-old children interested in emergency services, Camp 911 campers will tour an ambulance, learn CPR, interact with their local fire and police departments and visit a hospital emergency department.

HVA paramedics and EMTs serve as camp counselors, teaching campers about safety at home and at play, how to perform life savings skills on injured victims, and all about emergency services careers.

The free two-day camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at various locations in HVA’s service area. The following four camps are available for Washtenaw County residents:

  • June 20-21 at St. Joseph Mercy Saline Hospital
  • July 19-20 at the Eastern Michigan University Student Center
  • July 25-26 at Chelsea Community Hospital
  • August 1-2 at Huron Valley Ambulance
