Judge Approves New Trial Date for Michigan Man Accused in Scio Twp. Car Dealership Beating

Here is a look at five interesting stories that occurred around Dexter this week.

1. Ann Arbor.com reported on the trial of Jonathan Aiden, a Washtenaw County man accused of beating 55-year-old William Kenney, who worked at Jim Bradley Pontiac GMC in Scio Township, on Aug. 18, 2006. A new pretrial date has been scheduled for Jan. 23, 2013. 

2. Dexter Patch reported on the campaign for Dexter Village President. Patch interviewed incumbent Shawn Keough and challenger Jim Carson to outline their plans if elected in November.

3. Dexter Patch reported on the six-month anniversary of the Dexter tornado. Residents in the Carriage Hills subdivision in Dexter Township are still working on rebuilding homes and cleaning up damage in the community.

4. Ann Arbor’s plan to create whitewater features on the Huron River has run into opposition from the federal government and the Huron River Watershed Council, the Ann Arbor Chronicle reported.

5. The Chelsea Standard reported on a member of the Chelsea Downtown Development Authority board resigning in protest after the board accepted a bid to demolish the Daniels Showroom, a former auto dealership near Main and Jackson streets.
