Local Bed and Breakfast is an Oasis

The Victorian Inn in Chelsea is a great weekend retreat for couples.

Firmly nestled in the heart of Chelsea’s historic business district is Chelsea House Victorian Inn. The bed and breakfast is the home of owners Kim and Jim Myles and can be a home away from home for any couple in need of rest, relaxation and an escape from the everyday routine.

The 1880s inn, purchased by the Myleses in 1994, is a full-service bed and breakfast equipped with period-decorated rooms, a large gathering space and even a private carriage house.

The facility has been completely restored but maintains much of its original woodwork, door casings, etchings and scrollwork. Jim Myles, formerly a licensed builder and restoration contractor, did most of the restoration himself.

Though your stay at the Chelsea House Inn will be peaceful and quiet, there is still plenty for you to do and see throughout your visit.  The inn is located directly behind The Purple Rose Theatre and around the corner from one of Michigan’s finest restaurants, The Common Grill. You and your companion can focus on each other and on relaxing, because the Myleses are available to make all your reservations for you during your stay.

When you’re fully rested and relaxed, be sure to visit the Waterloo Recreation Area’s Maple Sugar Festival from noon-4 p.m. Sunday, where you can observe the entire process of maple syrup production. You can also slip on your ice skates and get a little exercise at Chelsea's Arctic Coliseum.
