Morning Commute Could Be Messy

Between 8 to 10 inches of snow expected by Monday.

Dexter residents heading to work Monday morning should be prepared for messy roads and lots of shoveling as a mix of snow and freezing rain continues to move through the area.

The National Weather Service  is predicting eight to 10 inches to fall in the Ann Arbor area by the time the storm subsides between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m., forecasters said.

By 6 p.m. Sunday Ann Arbor.com was already reporting six inches of snow had fallen in the area.

Both the Dexter Area Fire Department and the Scio Township Fire Department said no emergency calls have come in as of 10 p.m. due to the weather.

"We haven't had anything weather related. It's been very quiet," Dexter firefighter Kyle Jones said.

Dexter Community Schools has not cancelled classes because students are already on holiday Monday for President's Day.

Calls to the National Weather Service's White Lake office were not returned at press time.
