News Briefly: Fairy Door Winners Receive Prizes; Resident Elected to HVA Board

Fairy door contest winners unveiled March 25

and the  will honor the recepients of the 2011 fairy door contest during a reception at Artistica on March 25. This year's winners are Masie Inman (first place children's category), Anissia Olson (first place adult category), and Sally Drumhill (second place adult category). Inman will receive a $75 gift certificate for an arts center class or workshop. Olson will receive a $100 gift certificate for an arts center class or workshop. Drumhill will receive a $50 gift certificate.

The doors will be available for purchase.

"Previous success in 2009 and 2010 encouraged Dexter Arts Center to collaborate with Artistica Gallery to welcome the fairies back to the Dexter community. To accommodate the great return of the fairies, Dexter Arts Center found folks of all ages who designed and built these tiny entranceways to assure a truly magical welcome," Artistica co-owner Pam O'Hara said.

Selection of first and second place prizes was determined by the more than 60 ballots cast by the public through March 14 resulting in three winning entries.
