Patch Readers Name Hudson Mills 'Best Park' in Dexter

The readers have spoken, and has been named the "Best Local Park" in Dexter Patch's bi-weekly .

In our contest, the park received the lion's share of votes at 88 percent. and Warrior Creek Park each shared 10 percent of the vote.

"We're very flattered that our users voted us No. 1," Jerry Cyr, park manager said. "We work for our patrons. Maintenance does a good job keeping the park facilities clean, and the park police keep our hike and bike trails safe, which I am sure park users appreciate."

Cyr said throughout the year the park offers plenty of family-friendly holiday activites, including an Easter egg hunt, visits with Santa, and Halloween crafts. The park also offers monthly bird hikes and other programs.

"Generally the programs are well attended," Cyr said. "We get a lot of compliments from folks about the range of activities we offer at the park."

Michael Silas, who was visiting the park with his daughter on Friday, said he enjoys walking his dog on the park's trail on weekends.

"Hudson Mills is just a beautiful park," he said. "I like coming here to relax, and sometimes I play a game of disc golf with some friends in the area."
