Patch Readers Pick Dexter Flowers as 'Best Local Florist' in Online Poll

The business is well known for its quality bouquets and floral arrangements for holidays and special occasions.

It was a horse race to the finish line between and in Dexter this week, but when the dust settled, Dexter Flowers emerged victorious in Patch's biweekly contest.

The business was named "" with a total of 20 points, and 320 votes from Patch readers.

"Dexter Flowers is by far the best flower shop in Dexter. Every arrangement that comes out of there is unique and a one of a kind. Theresa puts everything she has into each arrangement because she knows that someone special is receiving them as a gift from someone special in their life," customer T.J. Schuyler said.

Owner Theresa Whitley said being a part of the 'Readers' Choice' contest was a lot of fun.

"Our entire staff is so thankful for our wonderful customers," she said. "They are the reason why we enjoy coming to work every day. We are thrilled to see so many people took the time to vote and share such thoughtful comments. I personally would like to thank all of our customers for supporting our store year after year.

"I would also like to thank the Lord for growing beautiful flowers and blessing me with my grandma, who cultivated my love for flowers."

After taking a commanding lead with voters during the first days of the contest, finished in a strong second place with 18 points and 175 votes.

"I have been buying my wife flowers from Hearts & Flowers for years. (I) love them and their service," customer Ben Stacey said.

Third place went to , which received one vote.

In total, 496 voters participated in the "best florist" poll. Look for our next poll on Monday, which asks readers to vote on their favorite area golf course.
