Students design logos for Dexter Rotary Club's Sisal House project.

School: Dexter High School

Accomplishment: The DHS students won first place in the Dexter Rotary Club's Sisal House logo competition. The teens were awarded a certificate and $25 from the club. According to the Rotary Club, the Dexter High School Interact Club along with Rotarians are undertaking a new housing-technology program that provides structurally sound, environmentally friendly, easy-to-manufacture and easy-to-assemble housing units and components for use as temporary or permanent housing in developing countries and/or in response to housing crises caused by natural disasters. Sisal House products are manufactured from sustainable, indigenous fiber crops that are easily grown and harvested with minimal energy and cost.
