Powerful Winds Cause Power Outage for 1,000 Dexter Residents

DTE Energy crews continue working to restore power to Dexter Village residents on Sunday afternoon.

Power is still out for about 1,300 DTE customers in the 48130 zip code Sunday afternoon after fierce winds caused a large tree to fall on a power line near Dexter-Ann Arbor Road.

According to DTE spokesman Scott Simons, as of 4 p.m. crews were working to repair the downed line and have clcosed off part of Dexter-Ann Arbor Road near Zeeb Road.

"There is no estimate when we will have power restored," Simons said.
