Weekend Countdown: Holiday Hustle

Get a running start on a good cause with this annual event.

We're another day closer to the weekend, and it's always nice to look ahead to the fun that awaits. On Monday we suggested the Used Book Sale.

When: 4:15-6:30 p.m. Saturday
Pricing: For the 5K, under 18 before noon Thursday, $24; race weekend, $30. 18 and older, in advance, $29; $35 race weekend. For the Fun Run: under 18, $15 in advance, or $20 otherwise; 18 and older, $24 in advance, or $30 race weekend.
Why Go: Enjoy a fun run, walk or race at the Holiday Hustle 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run. You'll burn off a few holiday cookies and do a good deed since the event benefits area charities. The course passes neighborhood light displays, so it'll be a pretty route, and there will be raffle drawings. Bring a nonperishable food item and you could win gift cards, gear and more.
