Here's a look at what's happening around the area this weekend.

The weekend is here! What to do? Let Patch help you plan.

Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales Party

  • Where: CRU Winebar, Lounge of the Plum Market, 6565 Orchard Lake, West Bloomfield
  • When: 6:30-8 p.m. today
  • Pricing: $25
  • Why Go: For the person who views beer as more than a way to wet your whistle, consider this tasting party featuring Dexter's own Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales as the brew of honor. Sample the whole line, ask questions and enjoy pizza and snacks.

It's a Wonderful Life

  • Where:
  • When: 8 p.m. today and Saturday, 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sunday. (Show runs through Dec. 23)
  • Pricing: $25-$28, with group pricing and lunch packages available, too.
  • Why Go: Relive the lows and highs of George Bailey, who during a crisis wonders if things would be better had he never been born. The angel Clarence Oddbody decides to grant George's wish, and we all learn the difference one person can make. A musical based on the classic 1946 film.

Get Wild About Turkeys

  • Where:
  • When: 11 a.m. Saturday
  • Pricing: $3 per child; adults free
  • Why Go: Just in time for Thanksgiving, Hudson Mills Metropark invites children to "Get Wild About Turkeys." They'll join an interpreter and learn about wild turkeys via stories, hands-on projects and photos, followed by a centerpiece craft project to make and take home. Reservations required. Sign up by calling 800-477-3191 or 734-426-8211.
