1860's Historic Base Ball (Honoring Janice Pearson)

Your Union Base Ball Club of Dexter are making the very short trip over to Chelsea for a day of historic base ball.  We will be taking part in a 3 club 'gatling gun' tournament that see all 3 clubs playing at various innings during the same match.  Along with seeing the Monitor Base Ball Club of Chelsea, we will also be facing the Welkins out of Port Huron.  This will be a great day of base ball as we are quite familiar with the Chelsea club and always have a good time when we play them.

For a little added entertainment, all 3 clubs will be taking part in some quick 'skills' competitions before the start of the match.  Come out and root for your favorite club on what should be a beautiful day for base ball.

The Union Base Ball Club of Dexter recently lost someone close to their club.  Janice Pearson passed away on Saturday after a brief illness.  Janice was the tally keeper for the club since it began last year and was very supportive of the club.  She showed up every home match in a 19th century long dress, with a smile on her face ready to help out.  She will be greatly missed and with the permission of Chelsea, the match this Sunday will be in her honor.

Timbertown in Chelsea MI is north of downtown Chelsea.  Located on the south side of Sibley Rd.  For further information about this match or the Union Base Ball Club of Dexter, please email unionbbc@gmail.com
