Airplane Day 2013

An awareness-raiser/fundraiser and musical celebration honoring Laurence Carolin and his cause: Awakening people to the issues of extreme poverty and preventable disease in Africa.

Laurence spent the last year of his life making people aware of extreme poverty and preventable disease in the hopes that one day they would be eradicated. During his fight against cancer, Laurence donated the money from his Make-A-Wish gift to the United Nations Foundation, which works with ONE.org - a grassroots advocacy and campaigning organization that fights extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa. ONE.org was co-founded by Bono of the rock band U2 whose music inspired Laurence, throughout his battle with cancer, to think outside himself.

Airplane Day is the anniversary of Laurence's arrival in the U.S. when he was
adopted from his birth country of South Korea. Laurence’s family and friends
promised him that his goal to eliminate extreme poverty would live on in the form of a celebration around that date.

Welcome to Airplane Day 2013.
