Rec 101: Intro to Snowshoeing

If you’ve always wanted to try your hand at this exhilarating winter activity, join us for this FREE introductory program.  Participants will be instructed in snowshoes and accessories, winter safety, appropriate cold weather clothing, and basic snowshoeing techniques. It is geared to the first-timer and will incorporate all the above instruction as well as 60 – 90 minutes on some shoes trekking around the gorgeous Pinckney State Recreation Area.

All gear is provided to the first 30 participants courtesy of Running Fit, but you must pre-register.  Go to https://runningfitevents.webconnex.com/snowshoe101 if you need to borrow snowshoes, and note that in registration.  However, you are free to bring your own snowshoes and participate in the class without pre-registering.  Event will be held snow or not.  In the event there is no snow, please join us for a winter trail run and winter running tips.

Warm clothing is required and water bottles are recommended.  Dress in LAYERS!  Please note, participants must be 12 years of age or older.
