St. James Episcopal Church is featuring members of the Dexter Symphony Orchestra in a concert on Sunday, March 17th at 4:00 pm. Since it is St. Patrick's Day, there will be a St. Patrick's Day dinner following the concert featuring all the makings of a traditional Irish dinner: corned-beef and cabbage, soda bread, and more -all for free!! The musical part of the program will include Ravel's String Quartet in F major, and some Irish tunes. The string quartet, all members of the Dexter Orchestra, are Avik Basu and Sarah Davidsen, violins, Michael Garrahan, viola, and Amar Basu, cello. The second half of the program features the Dexter Wind Ensemble, playing Hindemith's Wind Quintet. Its members are Laura Hogan, flute, Angie Noble, oboe, Ralph Katz, clarinet, bassoon, Jonathan Peters, and Clare Bowman, french horn. The event is free except for a food donation to Faith in Action at the door. The church is located at 3279 Broad St. in downtown Dexter.
