Airplane Day at Foggy Bottom Coffee House

Want to make a positive difference in the world? You are invited to attend “Airplane Day 2011” -- a celebration of Laurence Carolin, a 15-year-old Dexter student who died in January 2010 from a malignant brain tumor.

Carolin spent the last year of his life making people aware of extreme poverty and preventable disease, in the hopes that one day these issues would be eradicated.

During his fight with cancer, Carolin donated the money from his Make-A-Wish gift to the United Nations Foundation, which works with ONE.org - a grassroots advocacy and campaigning organization that fights extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa.

Airplane Day is the anniversary of Carolin's arrival in the United States when he was adopted from his birth country of South Korea.
