Running Fit Presents $6,800 in Donations from Holiday Hustle

Athletic Booster Club of Dexter, Dexter Seniors, Dexter Lions Club and Faith in Action will share the proceeds from the 5K race. Shop with a Cop received its donation in December.

Running Fit President Randy Step on Wednesday presented a $6,800 donation check that will benefit the Athletic Booster Club of Dexter, Dexter Seniors, Dexter Lions Club and Faith in Action.

A fifth organization, Shop with a Cop, received its donation before Christmas.

The donations were raised at the sixth annual Dexter Holiday Hustle 5k Race, which draws about 1,500 runners annually, and will be divided among the four nonprofit groups.

Busch's in Dexter was a sponsor of the Dec. 7 race. Goodie baskets to the runners to help increase the amount of money available to the charities.

Runners also brought non-perishable food items that filled a truck and were distributed by Faith in Action.

Running Fit merchandise and gift cards were also raffled to those who brought food donations.
