Main Street Optometry Gives Vets the Gift of Sight

Program will provide eyewear for some of the 22 million veterans currently living in the United States.

This holiday season, Main Street Optometry is teaming with L’AMY America, A&A Optical and GovX in a charity program  that provides free eyewear to veterans in need.

For every pair of L’AMY America-branded frames and A&A Optical-branded frames purchased at Main Street Optometry by Dec. 31, 2013, one pair will be donated to a veteran in need. Main Street Optometry has offices in Dexter and Pinckney.

There are currently more than 22 million veterans in the United States.

“We are so proud to be able to participate in this program with our partners from L’AMY and A&A Optical,” Main Street Optometry’s Dr. Renee Laliberte said in a news release. “To be able to help out our veterans during this holiday season is such a great honor for all us at Main Street.”

Upon completion of the campaign promotion, L’AMY and A&A will donate an appropriate pair of frames to several veteran’s organizations, including Saluting Sacrifices, AthletesHelping Athletes, and the Red Circle Foundation.

Since starting this program five years ago, L’AMY has donated several thousand frames to the Lions Club and other charities to service needy patients, and expect that with A&A’s participation this year, along with the focus on giving to veterans the amount of frames donated, will be significant.
