Kid-Friendly Museums in and around Ann Arbor


Michigan Science Center A wonderful place for exploring Science, Engineering, Math and Technology in a creative hands-on setting.


Sloan/Longway Sloan*Longway was created when Longway Planetarium and Sloan Museum joined in 2004. Sloan*Longway is comprised of three facilities, namely Buick Automotive Gallery, Longway Planetarium and Sloan Museum.


Arab American National Museum The only museum in the country that is devoted to Arab American history and culture. In the museum's exhibits you will find artifacts, documents, and photographs that tell the story of Arab Americans and their important influence on American culture.


Michigan Natural History Museum A museum known for the dinosaur and mastedon skeletons on display. There is a planetarium and exhibits that include Michigan wildlife and geology.


Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum A unique kid-friendly museum in Farmington Hills, MI. This museum has been named by the Worlds Almanac as one of the 100 most unusual museums. Admission is free and is open 365 days a year.


Yankee Air Museum In 1981, a group of enthusiastic people, adopting the name Yankee Air Force, shared the desire to preserve the facts and glamour of southeastern Michigan's aviation history and opened the Yankee Air Museum.


Ann Arbor Hands on Museum The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum is a non-profit organization that offers an interactive, engaging environment for kids of all ages to learn about the world around them.
