Happy Mother's Day from Dexter!

My name is Laura and this is my first blog from Nichols & Stafford home decor store on Main Street in Dexter.

I would like to wish all mothers a very happy Mother's Day!

I have lived in Dexter for 12 years and I think Dexter is comprised of some great hard working, get it done, make it work, hardy, fun loving moms.

My first introduction to a wonderful group of Dexter moms was through a play group. A very supportive group of women; after having my third I don't think I cooked for a month.

Having a home decor store I see a lot of moms in different phases of "mommyhood." The soon to be, the sleep deprived newbie, the mom who just wants five minutes to look around (I try to always have lollipops, a quiet happy preschooler makes for a happy five minutes to peruse for mom). The mom who is redecorating the room of her youngest after leaving for college, to the grown up child shopping with mom on a vist home who now has kids of her own.

Every phase is to be cherished.

While in the throws of any challenge (potty training, trantrums, food wars, texting, attitude adjustments) remember to take a step back. Everything is a passing phase and fleeting momemt. As my partner loves to say,"Have faith it will all work out."

Whether you work "out of the house" or "in the house" we are all full-time moms. In Dexter I see a lot of support of one another as women and moms. So this Mother's Day let that friend know what a great mom she is!

I wish my girlfriends a wonderful Mother's Day and I thank you for the mommy support you have given me over the years. And of course I wish my mom a happy day, she always tells me to be careful on that "tall rickety ladder" I use in the store.
