Crime Report: Deputies Investigate Webster Township Burglary

Home Invasion

Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies are investigating a residential burglary that occurred near the 4000 block of Dexter-Pinckney Road in Webster Township on Wednesday. According to police, the homeowner called 911 after coming home midafternoon and discovering the break-in. Police said the home was entered through a window off the deck on the back side of the house.

Multiple items were stolen, including a Sony DVD/surround sound system, a Dell laptop, a Craftsman circular saw and socket set, a Dewalt corded drill, a Dewalt cordless tool set, a Beretta .40-caliber handgun, a Golden Eagle compound bow and a Matthews Monster compound bow. The case remains under investigation.

Larceny from a vehicle

  • Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of Melbourne Drive in the village of Dexter on Tuesday to investigate the reported theft of a GPS system from a parked car. According to police reports, the vehicle's owner told deputies the property was stolen from inside the parked car sometime during the night. The case remains under investigation.
  • Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies are investigating the theft of a catalytic converter from a parked car on Monday in Scio Township. According to police reports, the vehicle's owners told investigators their car was parked at the Park-and-Ride near Miller Road and M-14. When the owners returned to their car at the end of the day, they discovered the catalytic converter had been removed. The case remains under investigation.

Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies are investigating the reported theft of multiple firearms from a storage barn in the 7000 block of North Territorial Road in Webster Township on Tuesday. According to police reports, the homeowners told investigators that multiple firearms were removed from their storage barn by an unknown person. Items stolen include three hunting rifles, four shotguns and three hunting muzzle loaders. The case remains under investigation.
