Crime Report: Police Investigate Home Invasion in Scio Township

The following information was supplied by the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Home Invasion

On July 24, deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a home invasion in the 5900 block of Versailles Road in Scio Township. According to police, an unknown individual entered the home sometime between midnight and 5:45 a.m. through an open garage door and then gained entry through an unlocked door leading into the house. Once inside, the suspect stole a wallet, cell phone and laptop computer. There are no suspects at this time.

On July 17, deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 13000 block of Aberdeen in Dexter Township in response to a stolen property complaint. According to police reports, a resident contacted police about a missing cell phone, which was actually misplaced by the owner and located a short time later. The case is closed.

Disorderly conduct

On July 17, deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 3000 Block of Broad Street in Dexter Village due to a noise complaint. Upon arrival, deputies intervened in a landlord tenant dispute. The landlord left the property and will seek alternative measures to deal with the tenant, according to police.

Public fighting

On July 21, deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to on Baker Road in response to a fight complaint. According to police records, deputies were informed that 12 subjects were fighting outside of the business. Upon arrival, no individuals were located. The case is closed.
