Deputies Investigate Home Burglary in Dexter Township

The following information was supplied by the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary of a residence in the 9000 block of Algonquin Road in Dexter Township.

According to police reports, deputies were dispatched to the home on Jan. 2. Sgt. Keith Flores said deputies discovered that sometime during the last six weeks, an unknown suspect or suspects forcibly broke into the residence and stole several items. No evidence was left at the scene, Flores said.

On Dec. 31, a Dexter Township resident called 911 to report gunshots near his property. According to police reports, deputies responded to the area and were unable to locate the source of the gunshots.

Deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office are investigating a credit card fraud complaint in Webster Township. According to police reports, a resident living near the 7000 block of Hickory Creek contacted deputies on Dec. 31 after he discovered a fraudulant transaction on his credit card from Wal-Mart. Police said a suspect or suspects used the credit card to order items for delivery to an address in Southfield.

The store stopped the transaction and did not ship the merchandise. Upon investigation, deputies discovered that the address in Southfield was vacant. The victim's credit cards have since been cancelled.
