Dexter Man Killed in Vehicle Accident Near Lima Center Road in Dexter Township

Christopher James Boyer of Dexter was killed on Wednesday in a rollover accident.

A 24-year-old Dexter resident was killed in a one-vehicle accident in Dexter Township on Wednesday.

According to a press release from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office, Christopher James Boyer, 24, died when the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu he was riding in lost control while traveling southbound on North Lima Center Road in Dexter Township and rolled over coming to rest in the roadway.

Derrick Jackson, director of community engagement for the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office, said officers were dispatched to the scene around 8:34 p.m. along with Huron Valley Ambulance and the Dexter Area Fire Department.

David Fishburn, 25, of Chelsea, was transported to the University of Michigan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Speed, alcohol, and road conditions all appear to have been a factor in the accident, Jackson said. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts. The investigation is ongoing.
