Operating under the influence
On Jan. 22 at approximately 5:30 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Dexter-Pinckney and Bell roads in Dexter Township for a single car crash. According to police, a male driver told deputies he swerved to avoid a deer, lost control and ran off the roadway and rolled the vehicle.
Further conversation revealed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver. Due to a possible leg fracture, sobriety tests were not performed on scene, Sgt. Keith Flores said. A blood draw was conducted at the hospital and sent to the Michigan State Police lab for analysis. The man was released pending results from the blood test.
