Suspect Hides in Habitat for Humanity Store, Steals Safe Box with Cash After Hours

SCIO TWP. — The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary reported at the Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley store in Scio Township.
According to a press release from the sheriff, deputies responded to the store at 170 Aprill Drive on Oct. 21. Investigators believe that the suspect hid in the store's warehouse Sunday until it closed.
Once employees were gone, the suspect broke into the main office and stole a safe box that contained cash from the weekend sales. The theft was reported on Monday.
