Police Arrest Man for Marijuana Possession

The following information was supplied by the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

A Washtenaw County man was arrested and faces narcotics possession charges during a routine traffic stop in the village of Dexter on Feb. 10.

According to police reports, sheriff's deputies observed a dark colored van speeding down Dexter-Ann Arbor Road at approximately 8:45 a.m. The vehicle also had expired tabs on the license plate.

After stopping the vehicle, deputies discovered the driver did not have a valid license and noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

The driver was given sobriety tests and arrested on a charge of possession of narcotics, marijuana, and several warrants for operating under the influence.

Larceny

On Feb. 9, deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to 8060 Main St. in response to a larceny complaint. According to police, the person informed deputies that a man driving a white van stole a ladder he used to access the rooftop. No suspect information is available.

Fraud

On Feb. 13, deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 7000 block of Dexter Townhall Road in Dexter Township for a credit card fraud complaint. According to police records, deputies were informed that a juvenile was suspected of using his parents credit card to shop online without permission.
