Police Blotter: Deputies Investigate Burglaries in Scio Township

Here is a look at recent police activity in Dexter and the surrounding area.

Burglary

  • On March 7, Washtenaw County sheriff deputies assigned to Scio Township responded to the 3000 block of West Liberty Street (west of Scio Ridge Road) for a burglary complaint. An unknown number of suspects forced open a garage door to gain entry, according to a police report. Miscellaneous hand tools were taken, the report said.
  • On March 3, deputies assigned to Scio Township responded to the 100 block of Burton Road (south of Jackson Road) for a burglary complaint. An unknown number of suspects attempted to pry open an entrance door but were unsuccessful, according to a police report. No items were taken, the report said.

Operating While Impaired Arrest

On March 5, deputies assigned to Dexter Township responded to McGregor Road near Dexter-Pinckney Road for a traffic crash, where an 18-year-old Dexter man was seen running from the scene. He was later arrested and taken to the county jail on the suspicion of drunk driving after he told police he had been involved in a crash and that he had been drinking, according to a police report.

Warrant Arrest

On March 3, deputies assigned to Scio Township stopped a vehicle in the 4000 block of Jackson Road. Police arrested the driver and took her the county jail after they determined she was wanted on several outstanding warrants for driving with a suspended license, according to a police report.
