Police Blotter: Deputies Investigate Series of Thefts

Here is a look at some recent police activity around the Village of Dexter.

Larceny

On Tuesday, deputies assigned to the Village of Dexter were dispatched to the 7900 block of Forest Street. According to police reports, the resident informed deputies that several items including a gas stove, cast iron compressor and various automobile parts had been stolen from the property during the past week. There are no suspects. The case remains under investigation.

Vandalism

On Monday, deputies assigned to the Village of Dexter responded to the area of York Drive and Meadow View for a vandalism complaint. According to reports, a resident informed investigators that he discovered a public street sign had been spray painted. The case remains open.

Suspicious Person

On Monday, deputies assigned to the Village of Dexter were dispatched at 11 p.m. to investigate a suspicious person in a downtown parking lot near the . According to police reports, a caller reported seeing a man underneath the steering column of a vehicle. Upon noticing the caller, the suspicious person ran away. Deputies made contact with some individuals that were nearby but did not locate the man.

Stolen Property

On May 3, a deputy with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to investigate a report of $300 worth of missing merchandise from a front porch in the 2000 block of Melbourne Avenue. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call Deputy Marcus Kirby at 734-426-0228.
