Police Blotter: Deputies Investigate Vandalism in Downtown Dexter

Vandalism

On Wednesday, Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office deputies assigned to the village of Dexter responded to a vandalism complaint in the 8000 block of Main Street. Deputies discovered that someone had spray-painted graffiti on the side of a commercial building. No further information was available. The case is under investigation.

Warrant Arrest

On Wednesday, deputies arrested a 34-year-old woman in the 100 block of Aprill Drive in Scio Township on outstanding warrants in connection with retail fraud charges out of Van Buren Township.

On Sunday, deputies responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in downtown Dexter. Deputies stopped the vehicle and discovered that the driver, a 45-year-old Clinton Township resident, was intoxicated, the police report said. The driver was arrested and taken to the Washtenaw County Jail.

Larceny

On Saturday, a deputy responded to a larceny complaint in the 6000 block of Westbourne Court. The deputy discovered that an unknown individual had entered the homeowner's garage and removed five gift cards from various locations out of an unlocked car. The case remains under investigation.

Home Invasion

At approximately 11 p.m. June 9, deputies assigned to Scio Township were dispatched to the 300 block of Apple Street for a residential burglary that had reportedly just occurred. According to police, deputies arrived in the area and conducted an investigation that led to the arrest of a suspect. All stolen property was recovered and returned to the owner. Deputies determined that entry to the home was gained through a ground-floor window.
