Police Report: Police Investigate Home Invasions in Dexter Township

Stolen Property

Deputies assigned to Dexter Township are investigating the theft of a pontoon boat from the 9700 block of Portage Lake Road. According to the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department, police were contacted on Sunday. The boat was recovered around 8 p.m. after deputies discovered it floating on Portage Lake. The case remains under investigation.

Home Invasions

Deputies assigned to Dexter Township are investigating two home invasions reported in the 9000 block of Dexter-Pinckney Road on Thursday. No further details were provided by the Sheriff's Department. The cases remain under investigation.

Larceny

Deputies from Scio Township arrested a 52-year-old man who allegedly stole a power washer from the McDonald's restaurant located at 373 N. Zeeb Rd. on Thursday. According to police, deputies were called to the area at about 4:30 a.m. when several employees were still inside the restaurant after closing. The employees witnessed the man loitering around the maintenance shed behind the restaurant. Deputies responded and found the suspect near an adjacent building. The stolen property was recovered.

Drunken Driving

Deputies patrolling Scio Township arrested a suspected drunken driver near 3900 E. Delhi Rd. on Wednesday after responding to a traffic accident. Deputies said they observed the vehicle's driver acting erratically and determined the driver had been under the influence of alcohol. Field sobriety tests were conducted at the scene. Upon failing the tests, the driver was taken into custody.
